Samuel Tefera Sets New 1500m World Indoor Record

Samuel Tefera of Ethiopia broke the World 1500m indoor record with 3:31.04 performance at the Muller Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday.

The 19-years-old Tefera, who won the World indoor gold last year, beat Hicham El Guerrouj’s  22-year-old 1500m world indoor record of 3:31.18 by 0.14 seconds. 

The third place with a new PB and the third-best mark all-time of 3:31.58 took Yomif Kejelcha, who originally entered this meet with an aim to break the world record.

Australia's Stewart Mcsweyn finished third in a new Australian record.
