Qatari track and field super star, Mutaz Essa Barshim, almost broke Javier Sotomayor's 2.45m high jump World record when he attampeted 2.46m at Gyulai Istvan Memorial on Monday in Hungary.

After equalling 2018 World lead by clearing 2.40m, the reigning World champion, Barshim, asked to raise the bar to a new World record height of 2.46m which he almost cleared after a couple of very good attempts.
