Polish Men's 4x400m Relay Sets New World Record

The Polish men's 4x400m relay team of  Karol Zalewski, Rafal Omelko, Lukasz Krawczuk, Jakub Krzewina shocked team USA to win the World indoor championships with a new World record on Sunday in Birmingham.

USA's first three legs of  Fred Kerley, Michael Cherry and Aldrich Bailey set the pace for a new record crossing the 1200m in 2:16.33. However in the final leg Poland's  Jakub Krzewina managed to catch USA's anchor leg runner Vernon Norwood and pass him in the final cure to cross the line in a new WR of  3:01.77. USA team finished in second in  3:01.77 as Belgium's 3:02.51.

The previous World record of  3:02.13 belonged to USA from 2014 indoor championships in Sopot.
