Edward Cheserek clocks history's 2nd fastest indoor mile with 3:49.44 in Boston

Kenya's Edward Cheserek became the second fastest indoor miler in history at David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Friday 9 February.

Cheserek who lives and trains in the US one week ago clocked a 3:54.73 at altitude in Albuquerque and produced his 2nd fastest performance of  3:53.85 on a flat 200m track  in Winston-Salem.

On Friday in Boston the 24-year-old Cheserek clocked the 2nd fastest indoor mile in history and a new Kenyan indoor record with an impressive 3:49.44 performance.

Legendary Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco holds the world indoor record at 3:48.45.
