Lisek Defeats Global Champion Kendricks in Cottbuss

Poland's Piotr Lisek took down USA's World champion Sam Kendricks at the International indoor athletics meeting in Cottbus, Germany on Wednesday night.

Lisek repeated his season's best of 5.83m to end Sam Kendrick's 17-competition unbeaten streak that goes back to 2016 summer. 

Kendrick with 5.78m performance took second, while defending World indoor champion Kostadinos Filippidis settled in third with 5.70m.

Last Friday Lisek prevailed at ISATF Indoor in German capital beating World record holder Lavillenie and Olympic champion Thiago Braz. 

The women's high jump competition took Ukraine's Yuliya Levchenko with a new indoor lifetime best of 1.97m.
