USA's teenage sensation, Sydney McLaughlin, reduced her own world Junior U20 record in the 400m hurdles when running 54.03 on Friday, 2 June at the NJSIAA Group Championships in Egg Harbor (USA).

The 17-year-old highschooler, who competed for the USA at 2016 Rio Olympics, shaved 0.12 seconds from her previous record she set at last years US trials in Eugene. Her 400m hurdles time is the 3rd fastest in 2017 in the world, behind Bahamas Ashley Spencer and World championships silver medallist USA's Shamier Little

Later same day McLaughlin returned to track to win the 400m flat in a blistering 51.88 seconds.
