The 37-year-old 2011 and 2013 World Champion, Kiplagat, won the women's race in a fast 2 hours 21 minutes and 52 seconds. Rose Chelimo of Bahrain took the second place in 2:22.51 as American Jordan Hassay, who made a marathon debut crossed the line in 3rd place in an impressive 2:23.00.
The men's race won Kenyan Geoffrey Kirui who clocked 2:09.37 beating Rio Olympics bronze medalist American Galen Rupp into second in 2:09.58. Japanese runner Suguru Osako surprisingly finished in third place with a time of 2:10.28.
