The 18-year-old Mondo Duplantis cleared 5.83m on his third attempt to break U20 World record indoors and to set a world leading mark in 2018 on Saturday in Reno Nevada on Friday, January 12. Duplantis broke the record with a borrowed pole because the one he had was too short. The Swedish athlete who is a freshman at Louisiana State University and coached by his parents produced a major shock last year when he broke the U20 WR with a 5.90m at Texas Relays.
