Did previous drug use help Gatlin to become oldest world 100m champion?
Posted by: madeinusa - 08-06-2017, 03:12 AM - Forum: World Athletics Championships - Replies (2)

We all saw what happened in men's 100m final in London. American sprinter Gatlin at age 35 became the oldest sprint champion in history. Gatlin was banned for  doping twice, first in 2001 and then in 2006. Since IAAF is soft on dopers it forgives. So Gatlin returned to this sport even stronger as he set all his PB's and won numerous global medals.

Did the doping Gatlin used in the past helped him to become who he is today at that age of 35?

Caster Semaya will win 1500m; joged 4:02 to make semis
Posted by: caster - 08-04-2017, 06:45 PM - Forum: World Athletics Championships - Replies (3)

After just watching women's 1500m heats it is clear to me that Caster Semenya is the favorite for gold. Joged across the line in in second with a big PB of 4:02 just enough to not beat Dibaba.

They got the truth out by secretly taping the athlete.

The runner says they use doping to win big prize moneys at major races, and that their agents from another countries recommend them to use doping.

De Grasse pulls out of World championships with severe injury
Posted by: viking - 08-03-2017, 03:25 AM - Forum: World Athletics Championships - Replies (5)

Andre de Grasse has pulled out of world championships with hamstring injury.
According to his agent Paul Doyle De Grasse is done for the rest of the season as his medics think his recovery will take 4-6 weeks.

"He strained his hamstring on Monday doing his last start session before the Worlds. Grade 2 hamstring strain. We thought initially maybe he'd be better in a few days and be able to run the 200 but further MRI results today showed that it's going to be about a 4-6 week injury. So unfortunately he's done for the season." Paul Doyle wrote.

Predictions for Bolt, Genzebe Dibaba, Kipyegon, Muir etc?
Posted by: mike5555 - 08-02-2017, 09:03 PM - Forum: World Athletics Championships - Replies (7)

How well will they do?

Bolt: He doesn't seem to be anywhere 9.58 shape but has done 9.95 recently, has had work done on his back, could probably pull a 9.78? 9.80-9.82 seems more likely.

But will De Grasse, who has a lifetime best of 9.80 and a pretty good season give him work?

Dibaba I hope is in great shape but I think Kipyegon and Muir can give her a hard time in the 1,500. She seems better than last year: no toe injury, and a pretty good season. A mile in 4:16 (suggesting a 3:55-56 in 1,500).

There are others...what you think?
