David Storl 21,68m, Lijiao Gong 20.34m in shot put meet in Gotha

Germany's David Storl, who withdrew with a minor injury from last week's Monaco Diamond league, won the international shot put meet in Gotha, Germany on Sunday (19).

 

Defending world champion, Storl, won the event with a throw of 21.68m in fifth round. The German shot putter showed fine form as he managed to throw 21,52m and  21,49m in round two and round four respectively. 

Second place in the meet took Tobias Dahm, who managed to throw 19.74m.

In the women's shot put contest, China's Lijiao Gong upset world season leader Germany's Christina Schwanitz. Gongin round three threw 20,34m while Schwanitz in round five managed to throw  20,08m.
