Japan's Sani Brown sets CR to win gold in 100m at world youth championships in Cali

Japanese sprinter Abdul Hakim Sani Brown set a new championships record of 10.28 seconds at the boys 100m final during the opening day of  IAAF World youth championships in Cali, Colombia on Wednesday.

During the morning session, Sani Brown broke the CR by winning heat 1 in 10.30 seconds. He repeated the same mark when he won the semi final 2.

In the final event of the first day,  the Japanese youngster powered to a new personal best and championships record of 10.28 seconds to win first medal for his country in this championships.

Second day and silver medal for Brazil won Derick Silva, who clocked 10.49 seconds, while Great Britain's  Rechmial Miller took bronze with a time of 10.49 seconds.
