Merrit & Sanchez Stars at Perth Track Classic

The reigning 400m word champion, Lawshan Merrit (USA), and Olympic 400m hurdle Champion Felix Sanchez (DOM) will headline Saturday's (22) Perth track classic in Australia.

On Saturday the American Merrit will go against Australia's on off the finest quarter milers in the 400m race. Merrit, who won the Gold at the World Championships in Moscow last year lost only 2 races out 18 and both times to Olympic 400m Champion, Kirani James, of Grenada.

"The weather here is ideal for this part of the season and I am just looking forward to going out and doing what I do, running this 400m and putting on a show for the crowd," Merrit said.

"I feel like if I show up, it's business time. I will go out there, be focused and enjoy the before and after. But when that gun goes off, it is business until I cross that finish line." concluded World Champion.

Another high caliber superstar, Felix Sanchez (DOM), is entered in the men's 400m hurdles. The 36 year old Sanchez already announce that he will continue his career until Rio Olympics in 2016.

"This is my 15th season and this year mentally I am just going to try and enjoy it more without the stresses of a major championships," he said. "I want to enjoy it and then have that final push to Beijing (2015 world championships) and Rio." said 2 time Olympic gold medalist Sanchez.
