Vlasic Finally Recovered from Foot Injury

The two time World High Jump Champion Blanka Vlasic posted on her website that she has recovered from the foot injury that she was suffering from for almost two years. 

The injury that forced the athlete to withdraw from last years Olympic Games and this years competitions has showed no signs in her first practices this week. 

"Already after my first training sessions I did not feel the usual pain, which showed me clearly that I'm on the right path," Vlasic said in a statement on her official website.

"There is still a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I will stay patient and keep a smile on my face," said Vlasic.

Vlasic did not reveal when she would appear in competition but knows that the there is no rush to push training harder too early.

"I am not in a hurry, I have to respect every step of my rehabilitation, but for the time being I'm very satisfied with the development," she said.

The only time she appeared this season was at the Diamond League meet in New York where she won the high jump, but later in the year she withdrew from the competitions since the pain of the same injury appeared again.

The Croatian won world high jump titles back in 2007 and 2009 and took the silver medal at the Daegu world champs in 2011.
