Farah Takes Incredible 5000m Gold

Posted by: Watch Athletics

Mo Farah added the 5000m gold on Friday to his 10000m world championship gold medal he won last Sunday.

The British distance running star, who won 5000m and 10000m at London 2012, repeated  the double again in Russia by winning both events.

With total of 5 world championship golds and and 2 Olympic champion titles, Farah has become one of the greatest distance runners in history.

Kenenisa Bekele and Mo Farah are the only runners to hold the Olympic and World Championship 5000m and 10000m double simultaneously.

“It was hard – a lot harder work than last year,” Farah said afterwards. "I never thought I would achieve something like this. It was so tough but thankfully I've come through it with another gold medal." said Farah in an interview after the race.
