• Silva and Malachovski Shines in Hengelo

Poland's Piotr Malachowski produced the the best throw of the year in the men's discus with 71.84 meter performance, while Yarisley Silva jumped 4.90m in the pole vault, at the at the FBK Games in Hengelo, Netherlands on Saturday.

Malachowski defeated Olympic champion Robert Harting of Germany, who manage 69.91m improving his season best result. The winners,Malachowski's, performance is a new Poland's national record and tops the world season list in the men's discus.

Yarisley Silva of Cuba also produced a best performance in the world this season to win the women's pole vault with a jump of 4.90 meters. Cuban easy defeated Russians Svetlana Feofanova, the former World champion and former World record holder, who jumped 4.60 and Aleksandra Kiryashova, who managed 4.50m.

Only two women, Russia’s World record holder Yelena Isinbayeva and the USA’s Jenn Suhr, have ever gone higher than Silva.
