The men’s Pole Vault was another classic battle between Renaud
Lavillenie and Bjorn Otto. Germany’s Bjorn Otto cleared 5.90m on his
second attempt while Lavillenien needed three attempts to stay in the
competition. Lavillenie, London Olympic Gold medallist then cleared 5.95m, but the London Olympics silver medallist Otto could go no higher.
The third and fourth place took Germans Raphael Holzdeppe and Malte Mohr who both cleared 5.84m.
