• Otto Impresses With 5.90m in Cottbus

The 2012 London Olympic silver medallsit, Bjorn Otto, kicked off his 2013 season with an impressive 5.90m and win at the Cottbus indoor Springer Meeting on wednesady, January 30. Otto with 5.90m now moves to #2 spot in the 2013 world indoor list.

In the competition the first four places took German pole-vaulters, with Hendrik Guber in second 5.65m, Tobias Scherbarth in third 5.60m and Karsten Dilla in fourth with 5.60m vault. 

The winner Bjorn Otto will return in action this weekend where he will compete in the 2013 International Hallen Meeting in  Karlsruhe. He will face the seaosn leader and Olympic Champion Renaud Lavillenie of France.

Womens high jump was won by Russias Irina Gordeyeva who now has 3 consecutive wins in this competition starting from 2011. The second place took Hanne van Hessche 1.84m from belgium and the third place took Nadezda Dusanova from uzbekistan 1.84m.
