For a second consecutive year, Kenyan runner James Kwanbai took victory at the Joongang Seoul Marathon on Sunday, November 4.

The 29-year-old Kwambai, won the marathon race with a time of 2:05:50 shaving 2:23 from the course record that he set a year ago.

Kwambai crossed the finish line in 2:05:50 to collect the $50,000 first place along with a $20,000 bonus for a sub-2:06 performance.  William Chebon Chebor, KEN was a distant second in 2:10:24 and collected $30,000.

Women’s Race –

Given the personal bests of the six domestic elites entered in the women’s field, the course record, 2:29:30 set by Korean Eung-Jung Lee in 2007, was never under threat.

Kyung-Hee Choi pulled away from the field by the 35 kilometre point to win in 2:39:20, more than two minutes clear of Ho-Sun Park (2:41:43) and Ji-Eun Kim (2:41:59) to collect $9200 in winnings.
