The 31-year-old American sprint super star Allyson Felix is focused on winning the 400m gold at next Olympic games Tokyo in 2020.

"The Tokyo Olympics is my goal. I’m working towards that and I want to give it my all. It is a very strenuous process. If it doesn’t happen, there are a lot of things to do after my running career.” Felix told reuters on Thursday.

Despite the 200m being her favourite event, Felix will put all her energy into the 400m trainig.

"I think I haven’t reached my full potential in the 400’s as of now,” She said.

At Rio Olympics she finished in 2nd and at this year's World championships in London Felix finished in third place in the 400m. She admitted her race strategy failed.

“You can be the best, but if your strategy is off and if you don’t put the race together, it can end wrongly," she said. "To me, that’s the challenge of the 400m.”

Having won 6 Olympic and 11 world championships gold medals Felix is the most decorated sports women in history.
